Carbon Inventory, Manchester

Clientname: Greater Manchester Area
Year: 2006 - 2008
Clienttype: Public
Location: Manchester, United Kingdom
Expertise: back-dating of CO2 inventory

Starting in 2006, Royal Haskoning reviewed, updated and provided new tools for an industrial emissions inventory on behalf of the ten local authorities in Greater Manchester. The key authority in this project, the Manchester City Council, has since instructed further research to develop an enhanced dataset for the key local air pollutants and a baseline CO2 inventory.

The city’s own impact on the climate is also calculated by giving consideration to such matters as energy use in city buildings, vehicle fleet and street lighting. The project was finished in May 2008.
