In the south of China, Royal Haskoning is assisting in the development of a new international business centre in Zhu Jiang New Town, attracting 810,000 people a day. Although this does not sound very climate friendly, Royal Haskoning is developing a traffic plan that aims to prevent traffic jams in order to avoid excessive emissions of CO2.
The specific contribution lies in a massive increase in public transport capacity, improving traffic connections, establishing three-dimensional pedestrian systems, designing taxi and bus terminals, and designing appropriate parking facilities.
